The Last Will & Testament of Enoch Crosby of the Town of Southeast in the County of Putnam and State of New York
I Enoch Crosby do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say --
First, I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Crosby during her natural life the use income or interest of the sum of Two thousand dollars, to commence at the time of my decease, which form of Two thousand dollars, I direct my Executors hereinafter named to put at interest on good landed security, and to pay the interest or income arising therefrom ---- yearly to my said daughter Sarah, and in case the faid interest or income of the fait fun of Two thousand dollars fhall not in the opinion of my daughter Hannah be sufficient for the comfortable support and maintenance of the said Sarah, I will and order that my said Executors fhall collect and from time to time pay to the faid Sarah so much of the faid principal sum of Two thousand dollars as the faid Hannah fhall in writing direct to be paid to the said Sarah for her maintenance and support. And in case any part of the faid principal sum of Two thousand dollars shall be paid to the faid Sarah as aforesaid, she is to be entitled only to the interest of the residue & such part of the principal fum as my said daughter Hannah may from time to time direct to be paid to her as aforesaid - And after the decease of the faid Sarah I give and bequeath the faid principal fum of Two thousand dollars, or so much thereof as shall not have been paid to the faid Sarah as aforesaid to Frederick, sometimes called Frederick Crosby the fon of the said Sarah Crosby -
Item, I also give to my said daughter Sarah my bureau, one bed, with a fet of curtains & sufficient summer & winter bedding for the fame, which bed, curtains and bedding shall be such as the faid Sarah shall choose out of any such property owned by me at the time of my decease.
Item, to my daughter Hannah, the widow of Philips Rundle deceased, I give & bequeath the fum of Two thousand dollars.
Item, I give and bequeath to my two sons Lewis Crosby and Enoch Crosby my two ??? and my bookcase.
Item, all the rest and remainder of my household and kitchen furnishings, including beds and bedding I give and bequeath to my two daughters Sarah and Hannah to be equally divided between them -
Item, In case I fhall not leave personal property besides that which I have hereinbefore fpecifically bequeathed sufficient to pay the foregoing pecuniary legacies I hereby charge my real estate with the payment of said pecuniary legacies or fo much thereof as my personal property besides that specifically bequeathed as aforesaid shall be insufficient to pay -
Item - All the rest residue and remainder of my Estate both real and personal not hereinbefore disposed of I devise & bequeath to my beloved sons Lewis Crosby and Enoch Crosby in equal proportions, & to their heirs and afsigns forever. If either of my sons Lewis or Enoch fhall depart this life before my decease, then it is my will that the lawful ifsue of the fon so dying fhall be entitled to fuch fhare or part of my estate & interest therein as fuch fon would have been entitled to by this will & testament had he survived me.
I do hereby appoint my beloved fons Enoch Crosby & Lewis Crosby Executors of this my last will testament hereby revoking all former wills & testament, by me made -
In witnefs whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this seventeenth day of April in the year one thousand and eight hundred & thirty five.

County Surrogate Court ) fs. I Walker Todd Surrogate of the County of Putnam do certify in persuance of the Revised Statutes of the State of New York, that upon proofs and examinations taken in the county aforesaid before me on the third day of August in the year of our Lord 1835 by the oath of Jeremiah Hine Esquire, Judah Kelly subscribing witnefses to the annexed will of Enoch Crosby deceased, and by the oath of Lewis Crosby as to his obtaining ?????? thereof & delivering the same to the Surrogate, that the same was well executed, that the said testator at the time of executing the same was in all respects competent to devise real estate and not under any restraint.
And I the said Surrogate do further certify that the annexed will with the proofs taken thereon are recorded in book C of Wills kept by me on pages

seal of office at Carmel in said county this third day of August
in the year of our Lord 1835.
